The Reserve Bank of India said on Tuesday that details of any penalty imposed on a primary dealer for violation of guidelines should be placed in the public domain.
The RBI will issue a press release giving details of the circumstances in which the penalty is imposed on the primary dealer along with communication on its imposition in the public domain.
"The penalty should also be disclosed in the notes on accounts to the balance sheet of the primary dealer in the next Annual Report," it said in a circular.
