Poland is seeking a $20.1 billion credit line from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), The Wall Street Journal reports. The government has requested for 13.69 billion IMF special drawing rights for 12 months.
The new precautionary credit line, which requires the IMF’s approval, will replace one of a similar size approved in May 2009, adds Reuters. Poland is planning to save the facility as a precaution instead of using it for refilling its FX reserves.
